misunderstood

Often in life we set out to do things with good intentions, but more often than not, we are misunderstood..

This used to be my playgorund...

Atuk's house in Kg. Gajah & The dreaded jamban, kalau mlm bawa pelita, or tunggu esok pagi ajelah..

Over the CNY holidays, we drove up to Ipoh to attend a wedding. Sue's mom had come down from Tganu to attend her cousin's daughter's wedding, of which both Sue and I had no idea who they were.. Anyway, traffic was so so, took us 4 hours to get there, driving 30-40km/h for 10 mins and then 100 km/h for 10 mins, that was the flow from Rawang to Ipoh.

After attending the wedding, we drove down to Teluk Intan. We had not visited Yanti, PaK Uda's daughter, who had given birth 9 days before Sue did back in October 05. After a tiring day of driving, we spent the night there..

The following morning, I got up early to follow Pak Uda to go to arwah Atuk's house in Kg. Gajah, about 20 mins from Teluk Intan. We wanted to go and see if there are still any rambutan left, as there were a few trees around atuk's house, but every year the 'thieves' would know which tree would bear the best fruit and take them.

When I got there, I was surprised at the condition of the house and compound. I hadn't been there for like a couple of years and Pak Uda had not had the time recently to see to the house. The old place looked really ragged and unattended. This place, which we used to call 'kampung' until atuk passed away, i think around 18 years ago, now looks so small compared to when we used to run around, mandi perigi, main kat parit, etc.. Those were the days..

Time changes how we look at things, the the way we react and the decisions we make...
